We're Married

Well, we made it back from the trip. Everything couldn't have gone smoother...except for a couple of really late train trips. I'm sorry that we were not able to post any pictures up. We did not have access to the internet during the trip (I should have anticipated that). I am going to start working on the posts to give everyone a day by day description of the trip. In the meantime, I am going to post a couple of pictures right now so that you can see how great things were.

Getting Ready to Leave

Well, we are at the home stretch and we are getting ready this week to leave on Saturday. We will try to post as many pictures as possible while in India. Kumar's parents sent us a copy of the invitation that were sent out in India and they are absolutely gorgeous!!!

Here is what they look like:

Movember

Well, Movember has officially started and this year Kumar has decided to grow a mustache. Check out the first picture...this is where it all begins.

The Movember event creates awareness around men's health issues and raises funds for carefully selected beneficiary partners in each country that are also charitable organizations, with a focus on prostate cancer.

Since its inception as a formal charity in 2004, Movember has raised over $29 million (USD) globally and is continuously working to increase awareness of prostate cancer within the community and change the attitude men have about their health.

If you would like to donate to Kumar's cause, you can find more information here:

I will post more pictures along the way so that you all can see the mustache growth. I need to try and make sure that he shaves it before the wedding.

Lehngas

Happy DIWALI!!

So for the wedding in Patna, I will wear a traditional Indian Bridal Lehnga. I will also have several saree's that I will need to wear. Yesterday, Kumar and I went up to Devon so that I could be measured for the blouse and petticoat for the saree's. Now I will just have to figure out the style and color that I want to wear. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures that I have found so far:
I have also found some Mehndi designs.
We are now in the process of getting the details planned for Patna.

The Itinerary is Set!

So, we finally have the agenda pretty set. Here is a basic run down of what the trip will look like.
November 29: Leave for India (Mom, Jenna, Kumar)
November 30-December 1:Delhi
December 2-4: Dehra Dun

December 3: Leave for India (Dad, Kate, Britni)
December 4: Arrive in Delhi 1:25 am (Dad, Kate, Britni 12/5)
December 5-8: Delhi and Ludhiana. Dad will get to golf
December 9-12: Patna for Wedding
December 13-15: Leave for Agra to see the Taj Mahal
December 16: Back to Delhi for final Shopping and fun. Leave for Chicago at 3:30 am on 12/17

We have booked all of the trains while traveling in India. Here is the site to check out the trains of India. We will be traveling most of the time by train and the rest by car.

We have also booked the hotels in Delhi and in Agra. While we are in Delhi, we will be staying at the
Hotel Ajanta. (It is where I stayed for the very first time when I arrived in Delhi).

In Agra we will be staying at the Taj Home Stay (I am pretty excited about it because it almost looks like a bed and breakfast in India)

We are doing really well with the planning right now. The next things that we need to take care of are the wedding details. We both need clothes, we need to buy gifts, Kumar needs a wedding band. I need to make a checklist.

The First Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to our first blog. I am going to try and keep track of everything that is leading up to our wedding in India. I can hardly believe that it is almost here. Since I know that everyone will not be able to come to India, I am going to make sure to post the pictures and document most of the events in this blog.

Here is our monogram on the side here. Jenna & Kumar (not to be confused with Jammu and Kasmir)

I will try to keep up to date with as much as I can. And I am sure that all of you know that most of the blogs will come from me (not sure about Kumar)
